Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Zaandam Zaandam, Netherlands
Just twelve minutes on train from Amsterdam, Zaandam was the world's first area of industry and, thanks to Dutch architects-WAM architecten, it's rich history is being translated in a thoroughly modern way with their fantastically unique design for Inntel Hotels' new property. Using the iconic green wooden houses of the Zaan region, and the assumption that a hotel is your temporary home,as inspiration - Wilfried van Winden has created a truly unique structure by creating the illusion that various examples of these traditional houses, ranging from a notary's residence to a worker's cottage, are randomly stacked upon one another...
Hotel Viura Villabuena de Álava, Spain
Like a cluster of ripe grapes or a hunk of mountain dirt, this Rioja escape is a tightly knit but haphazard mass of individual forms—a stunning foil to the 16th-century church that stands beside it. The owners, architects Joseba and Xabier Aramburu of the firm Designhouses, made good use of the structure's shapes, merging inside and out with exposed concrete walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and the occasional private terrace that overlooks the Sierra de Cantabria hills. And there are plenty of other design-circuit landmarks nearby: Zaha Hadid's pavilion at the López de Heredia vineyards, Santiago Calatrava's wine-making complex for Bodegas Ysios, and, yes, Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum.
These different and unique hotels of Van Winden are of superb tastes.I must say it would inspire more people if we could see more of them.Iam fascinated and really admire ur blog!Well done!
