Salone Del Mobile 2011-Milan

The International Furniture Fair is an established reality in the furniture sector. Better known to everyone as "The Salone" it is part of a series of events, inside the city centre and in the exhibition space of  "Rho".

The event has grown in importance and dimension and has a privileged role that goes beyond the simple exhibition. The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the occasion for manufacturers of furniture to meet and exchange ideas and news. But it's helpful also for designers, architects and trend-setters who want to stay updated on the latest trends about residential and commercial interior design, like restaurant and hotel interior design.

The expanded exhibition space, the variety of inside and outside events, the achieved standards of excellence have enabled the Salone del Mobile to draw 500,000 visitors to Milan!!! Don't miss out next year. Here is a selection of personal favorites from my experience this year.....

I am proud to announce that Holiday Inn Express Royal Docks is currently in the midst of a fabulous refurbishment. The main areas to be refurbished are the Hotel Reception, Lounge & Breakfast areas. All of the above areas will see a “redefined” change in look without denting the character of the hotel. The refurbishment will be completed by the end of May. When Gucci met Riva

Gucci and Riva, in collaboration with Officina Italiana Design, proudly presented the exclusive, made-to-order "Aquariva Gucci", at the 87th London International Boat Show. I was there to capture the moment.

Auariva Gucci is the result of a unique collaboration between two of Italy's most renowned design houses in celebration of the era of La Dolce Vita, when joie de vivre, glamour and elegance defined an attitude and a lifestyle.

In their respective sectors, Gucci and Riva have similar stories, each with a tradition of excellence in design and craftsmanship that has led to international fame.
